$220 per 50-minute session with Psychologist Lara.

The current APS & AAPi National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2024-2025 has the standard 46 to 60-minute consultation fee at $311. At Lara Beaton Psychology, we strive to keep access to mental health care accessible to the community, as such our current fee is $220 for a 50-minute consultation.

Lara offers services in person at Arana Hills and via Telehealth Australia wide. 

In person - Monday to Wednesday

Telehealth - Monday to Thursday 

Lara is able to provide psychological services under the Better Access Initiative with Medicare. You may be able to access rebates for your sessions using a valid Mental Health Care Plan and referral from your GP. Clients can access up to 10 rebated sessions under their MHCP, in a calendar year. Medicare rebates with a General Psychologist are currently $96.65 per session. This leaves a gap cost of $123.35 per session.

Please note that a Mental Health Care Plan is not required to book an appointment with Lara. If you are not eligible or do not wish to obtain a MHCP, you can attend appointments with Lara paying the full fee $220 per session.

Please seek eligibility from your private health insurer. Lara is unable to process private health claims in the clinic, however she can provide you with an invoice that you can take to your private health insurer, to lodge an eligible claim.

Lara accepts Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) referrals for white and gold card holders. Appointments under a DVA referral will need to be booked directly by contacting hello@larabeatonpsychology.com. Please send your DVA number and referral to administration with your enquiry.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, Lara Beaton Psychology requires at least 24-hours notice, in order to be able to offer this appointment time to another client.

For appointments that are cancelled with less than 24-hours notice or if you do not attend your scheduled appointment, the full session fee is charged. This cancellation fee is not claimable under Medicare.

Lara Beaton Psychology acknowledges that emergencies do happen. Please discuss with us if you are not able to attend an appointment due to an emergency. 

We are unfortunately unable to provide services via NDIS, Workcover or Open Arms referral pathways. We are unable to provide reports for any third parties, as this is outside of our scope of practice and focus at Lara Beaton Psychology.

Lara does not provide therapy for children, adolescents or couples. 

The client portal can be used by current clients to book, reschedule and cancel appointments. New clients will be required to submit a new client form and we will be in contact with you directly to book your initial appointment.
